with a punk soundtrack

I met with my honours supervisor yesterday. I blurted out the ideas in my mind so far, and we spoke in circles for over an hour to try and whittle it down to something as there's too many points of interest and they're too far flung. I think it was almost an hour into the conversation when I remembered something I had thought of the other night while watching Sofia Coppola's film Marie Antoinette...that I wanted to do for nineteenth century literature what Sofia did for the infamous French queen. So essentially my creative component stands, at this point, as being a story set in the 1800s but written 'with a punk soundtrack' a la Marie Antoinette. Which leaves me researching the era and looking at problems/differences/conflicts/all the juicy bits with transference and/or mix of theme and style, context and displacement...

I had nearly forgotten about that feeling I had while watching Marie Antoinette. It felt a bit like this: "!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Others might call it an epiphany.
